– A Presence That Resonates with Life and Sound

One of the reasons I am drawn to wood is the way its grain reveals the living traces of its history.
The quiet presence of a tree, standing with the weight of accumulated rings, has a calming effect on the human spirit.

Among all forms of wood, I feel a special attraction to mokukai—solid blocks of wood—and I have made it my theme to create objects that can be placed within everyday life.
This time, I chose to express that idea in the form of a speaker.

FOOT SPEAKER 1.0 builds upon the core concept of the previous work, with improved acoustic performance.
Its clear sound—especially tuned for the faithful reproduction of high frequencies—brings a fresh perspective to familiar music.
Despite its compact size, the use of dense wood allows for impactful and powerful bass.

By carving wood—this living material—into the form of a “foot,” a living motif,
I hope to create an object that sits quietly beside daily life, sharing both form and sound.

Through this series, I wish to further explore expressions that evoke a sense of connection to life itself.
